Whether you can barely reach your toes or you like to do handstands in your back yard, you will find the practice of yoga and the Tadasana community to be welcoming and accessible. Here are some answers to questions we get a lot.
1. What do I need to know if I’m brand new to yoga?
The only thing you need is an open mind. The practice of yoga is so beneficial to both your physical body and your emotional state, that physicians and therapists are regularly recommending it to their patients. You do not need to have any flexibility, strength or endurance to take a class – we work with you right where you are today. Every class is intended for all levels. The first few times you’ll need to watch others to learn some of the movements, but very quickly, it will all become second nature to you. Give yourself at least three classes before you make a judgement about yoga or your own results. New things take time to sink in. We practice Power Vinyasa, a hatha-based, flowing practice that challenges your body, mind and spirit so you can get to complete health. Learn more about our classes here.
2. Do you offer a beginner’s class?
On Saturdays at 4:30pm we offer a Yoga for Beginners class. This class follows the same structure as a regular class, but will focus on the core poses and take things a little slower. This is a great place to start if you are brand new, but do not feel that you must start with a Beginners class as all classes are intended for all levels.
3. Do you offer mats and towels for rent?
On your first visit to us, mat rental, towel rental, and water are included. After that, you can rent a mat for $2, rent a towel for $3, and purchase water for $1. We also have a bottle-filler in the studio.
4. What temperature is the room?
At Tadasana we heat the room to around body temperature to make it easier for your muscles to warm up. We are not seeking to create a sauna or an unbearable environment for practicing. Our Park City studio is large, with high ceilings, and we live in a very dry climate. As a result, the room will be warm, but can vary greatly. It will feel cooler in the winter, next to the windows and in the early morning. It feels warmer in full classes and during summer months.
5. Do I need to sign up in advance?
You do not need to sign up for class in advance but we encourage everyone to make use of the Tadasana App for Apple or Android to manage their personal class schedule. Please plan to come to the studio at least 15 minutes before class begins to complete our waiver and get ready for class.
6. How much does it cost?
A drop-in class is $18. The price goes down per class when you purchase a punch pass or an unlimited pass. Please check out our pass options here.
7. Do you have showers?
We have changing rooms, but no showers.
