Whether you can barely reach your toes or you do handstands in your backyard, you will find the practice of yoga and the Tadasana.Yoga community to be welcoming and accessible. Here are some answers to questions we get a lot.
1. What do I need if I’m brand new to yoga?
Tadasana.Yoga is the only yoga studio (in the world, that we know) that actually teaches you *how* to do yoga through our Yoga Mastery Program. If you’re brand new, you should start with our Yoga Mastery Welcome Lesson, where you’ll learn how to do the basic moves of the practice. We invest in our members with this first lesson, and then you are invited to join our Community Membership which offers unlimited classes plus a monthly Yoga Mastery Lesson that will help you continue to learn and progress your yoga practice. You do not need to have any flexibility, strength or endurance to start – we work with you right where you are today. You are also more than welcome to join a regular class. Let the teacher know that you are new and he or she will give you some guidance for your first class.
2. Do you offer a beginner’s class?
Yes! Our Yoga Mastery Welcome Lesson is a small group (1 teacher, 4 students) introduction to the basic moves of yoga. We highly recommend starting with that class or taking it as soon as you can after you begin. Our expert instructors are trained to guide students of all levels.
3. Do you offer mats and towels?
Mats and towels are available for use at any time.
4. Do you do hot yoga? What temperature is the room?
We warm the studio to make it easier for your muscles to warm up. Power Flow Classes are the warmest (around body temperature), Gentle Flow and Sculpt Classes are cooler. Our studio is large, with high ceilings and we live in a very dry climate. As a result, the room will be warm, but can vary greatly. It will feel cooler in the winter, next to the windows, and in the early morning. It will feel warmer in full classes and during summer months.
5. Do I need to sign up in advance?
While it isn’t required, we do recommend registering for classes in advance. The easiest way to manage your personal class schedule is through Tadasana.Yoga app for Apple or Android. Please plan to come to the studio at least 15 minutes before class begins to complete our waiver and get ready for class.
6. How much does it cost?
You’ll see the most progress and get the greatest value as a member of Tadasana.Yoga. Our Community Membership ($179 per month) is the most popular as it provides unlimited access to our classes plus a monthly semi-private Yoga Mastery Lesson where you get the opportunity to really learn how to practice yoga. If you just want to attend classes, our Class Membership is $129. If you prefer to drop in, you can pick up a single class or punch pass instead.
7. Do you have showers?
Our studio has changing rooms, but no showers.
8. What is the minimum age? Do you offer yoga for kids?
None of our locations are licensed as childcare facilities. As a result, children may not wait in the lobby (no matter how well-behaved) during a class. If your child is mature enough to attend a class, practice with you, and stay in the room, they are welcome to join. They must register and pay as a student to do so. We find that our classes are best for children ages 10 and up. We occasionally offer summer camp yoga programs for kids. Please look on our schedule for those opportunities.
